St. Cloud State today announced that Amber Schultz has accepted the position of assistant provost for undergraduate recruitment and transition programs starting Jan. 6.

A native of Plainview, Schultz has 15 years of experience in higher education admissions and enrollment management, most recently as associate vice president for enrollment management and student success at Edinboro University in Pennsylvania. Previously, she served five years as director of admissions and enrollment management at the University of Minnesota – Crookston and spent eight years in admissions work at Winona State University.

In this new position, Schultz will direct all strategic areas of recruitment of undergraduate students and efforts to provide students with a smooth transition to the university. She also will lead efforts to assess and improve support programs and initiatives for new students and transfer students in transition.

Schultz has an associate’s degree from Rochester Community and Technical College, a bachelor’s in public administration from the University of Wisconsin – LaCrosse, a master’s in educational leadership from Winona State and an Ed.D. in higher education administration from the University of Minnesota.
