Bike-riding students can make minor repairs at two campus self-serve stations installed in June.

DERO Fixit stations feature a stand, hanger, bike pump and tools for changing a flat, fixing brakes, adjusting derailleurs and the like.

One station is near the west entrance of Atwood Memorial Center. The other is north of Halenbeck Hall's Student Recreation Center, near the tennis courts.

Smartphone users can scan a QR code on the stand that links to a library of bicycle repair tutorials.

"This is another step towards our campus becoming more bicycle friendly and supporting human-powered transportation," said Ivan Bartha, coordinator experiential education at St. Cloud State's Outdoor Endeavors.

Evan Parkhouse '11, Sioux Falls, and Christopher Meschke '13, Waseca, were among the students involved in creating the bike-repair stations. They were students in professor Mitch Bender's senior project class in the Department of Environmental and Technological Studies
