Terror attack simulation
Wednesday, May 29, 2013
Patricia Bodelson's Global Disaster Relief Policy (POL 458) class is hosting a simulated terrorist attack exercise June 5 in the theater of Atwood Memorial Center.
Student organizers are seeking more than 100 volunteers for the 3-7 p.m. simulation. Complimentary food and beverages will be provided.
The exercise will begin with a briefing and simulated explosion. Each volunteer will respond to the explosion using directions on a role-playing card.
Bodelson is a professor of political science and a faculty member since 1990.
Her student organizers include Corey Vossen (Champlin), Kyle Hahn (Maple Grove) and Sarah Cermak (Elk River).
Organizers said the American Red Cross, Central Minnesota Chapter will be on hand, accepting blood donations.
Bodelson's past disaster exercises include a simulated relief camp in 2010.
In 2003, St. Cloud State hosted a community-wide terror attack simulation.
