Celebrations, a musical fundraiser to benefit scholarships in the Department of Music, is 7:30 p.m. April 20 in Ritsche Auditorium.

The concert features performances by SCSU Choirs and University Festival Orchestra.

Also performing will be Luke Pickman, multi-instrumentalist and senior hydrology major from St. Louis Park. Pickman is the 2013 Concerto Competition winner.

Concert proceeds will fund music scholarships. The Department of Music annually awards more than $50,000 in scholarships to music majors and non-majors.

A dessert reception in the auditorium lobby follows the concert.

Purchase tickets at General admission is $15, seniors are $12 and students and children are $5.

Consider becoming a Friends of Music donor by purchasing a tax-deductible $100 ticket.

Parking is free on streets adjacent to campus and a $1 per hour in the 4th Avenue Parking Ramp

University Festival Orchestra is conducted by Daniel O'Bryant, director of orchestras and low strings. He holds a doctorate from Arizona State University.

Directing the the choral ensembles will be Matthew Ferrell, interim director of choral activities. Ferrell earned a doctorate at the University of Miami.
