Questions and sounds for the 50-hour contest Feb. 8-10 will center around all things intergalactic.

"Trivia 2013: A Space Oddity" continues an event, begun in 1980, that has captured national and international attention and participation.

Team names -- each more absurd than the next -- have ranged from Phil + the Blanks, the 1983 champion, to Learned Pigs and Fireproof Women, a five-time winner. View the list of nearly 60 registered teams.

The 2012 theme was "33 1/3: Trivia Long Play."  The 2010 theme was "Superheroes of Trivia."
