The 12th annual Andrew Heiskell Award honors the most outstanding innovations among the member campuses of the IIENetwork, IIE’s membership association of more than 1,100 higher education institutions.

“This award is a great testimony to what we have all hoped for this program and the many others that have been influenced by the creation of this model,” said St. Cloud State President Earl H. Potter III.

IIE will present the awards at a ceremony in New York City on March 22 as part of its eighth annual Best Practices in Internationalization Conference for campus professionals. More than 150 campus leaders and international education professionals in the United States and around the world attend the conference each year.

“This year’s winners have developed new approaches to extending more international opportunities to a broader segment of their student populations,” said Allan E. Goodman, IIE president and CEO. “We appreciate the winners’ commitment to expanding access to study abroad and building partnerships, and we are pleased to recommend these programs as models for other campuses to learn from as they plot their own internationalization strategies.”

The award is named for the late Andrew Heiskell (1915-2003), a former chairman of Time Inc. and a long-time member of the executive committee of IIE's Board of Trustees. Heiskell was a renowned international and cultural philanthropist and a dedicated supporter of international education.

An independent not-for-profit founded in 1919, IIE is among the world's largest and most experienced international education and training organizations.
