"Whose Liberty?" is part of the permanent collection at the Marina Tsvetaeva Museum and Cultural Center in Moscow.
Sarah Drake '05 '09 will exhibit her art in St. Cloud in advance of her works going on display in Russia.
Her abstract works honoring Russian poet Marina Tsvetaeva are on display through Jan. 4 at the St. Cloud Public Library. Tsvetaeva, a giant of 20th century Russian literature, was a survivor of revolution, civil war, famine and purges.
Drake is among 25 international artsts exhibiting Dec. 20 - Jan. 1 at the Marina Tsvetaeva Museum and Cultural Center in Moscow. In addition, her artwork will be added to the museum's permanent collection, Drake said.
Drake last summer earned a silver medal for surrealism at "Earth, Time & People," an international juried exhibit at the West Park Art Gallery in New York City. Chairing the jury was Brooklyn-based Michael Prettyman, a veteran muralist with an international reputation.
A Sauk Rapids resident, Drake earned a bachelor's degree in elective studies and master's degree in social responsibility.
