Poster for the Sept. 27 Invisible Children event to raise awareness about child mass child abduction in Africa

An international campaign to end a quarter-century of child abductions in eastern and central Africa is coming to St. Cloud State.

Representatives from Invisible Children will speak 7 p.m. Sept. 27 in Ritsche Auditorium about the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA), a cult-like militia accused of murder, kidnapping, child-sex slavery and forcing children to serve as soldiers.

Led by Joseph Kony, an accused war criminal indicted in international court, the LRA is alleged to have committed atrocities in Uganda, Central African Republic, Congo and South Sudan, displacing millions and putting more than 60,000 children under arms.

For more information about this free public event, contact Callie Graca at 320-249-3406 or Dayo Falade at 320-249-3406.

Parking is free on streets adjacent to campus and a dollar per hour in the 4th Avenue Parking Ramp.
