St. Cloud State University was again named one of the most military friendly schools in America for 2013 by Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs and the Military Friendly Schools list.
St. Cloud State serves more than 525 enrolled military students and veterans and has been included in the Military Friendly Schools list every year since it began in 2009.
“St. Cloud State University is proud of its designation as a Military Friendly School and even more proud to be serving the more than 500 student veterans who enrich our campus with their valuable experience, maturity and dedication to pursuing the degrees that will help them in their transition to civilian life,” said St. Cloud State President Earl H. Potter III. “Their contributions to our community are immeasurable.”
Highlights of St. Cloud State’s qualifications include support such as:
- Veteran-specific clubs and organizations
- A veteran-specific page on the university website
- A local chapter of Student Veterans of America
- On-campus child care facilities.
St. Cloud State also offers many financial incentives for veterans, such as scholarships for military, veterans and military dependents.
The University received high ratings by student veterans in regards to services being offered in the areas of veteran resources, school resources, faculty, school environment and career services. St. Cloud State received no less than a 3.3 rating out of 4 in any area.
The Military Friendly Schools list, produced using national surveys, includes more than 1,700 schools that represent the top tier of U.S. colleges, universities and trade schools doing the most to educate America’s veterans. These schools offer military students the quality services, programs, discounts, scholarships, clubs, networking and staff. The list also explains the post-9/11 G.I. Bill and offers articles and advice for planning and executing a military education.
