Present at the SRC

Thursday, February 2, 2012

Feb. 15 is the "intent-to-present" deadline for the Student Research Colloquium, St. Cloud State's annual celebration of student research, scholarship and creative work.

The Student Research Colloquium (SRC) is 8 a.m.-8 p.m. April 17 in Atwood Memorial Center. Register and submit your intent to present online on the SRC website.

Students, in collaboration with faculty, can choose from three presentation categories: paper, poster and creative work/performance.

Help sessions are scheduled for students who want assistance preparing a presentation.

Cash prizes are awarded. Jason Tham, an international student from Malaysia, won $350 for his paper "The Usage and Implication of Social Networking Sites: A Survey of College Students." Meet Tham and other students (PDF) whose papers were acknowledged at the 2011 SRC (PDF). Tham, a mass communications undergraduate, collaborated with Niaz Ahmed, professor of mass communications.

Students participating in the paper competition will submit a formal paper by the March 1 deadline.

Posters are eligible for a $40 credit toward the cost of poster printing at Copies Plus in Atwood Memorial Center. March 12 through April 10, the credit will be applied on a first-come first-serve basis to the first 25 posters. The credit can only be applied toward the cost of poster printing. Limit of one $40 credit per poster.

Learn about deadlines and guidelines and view the colloquium schedule on the SRC website.
