Diamondback, a St. Cloud-based country band, will launch the Oct. 1 Celebrate! St. Cloud State event with a 1:30 p.m. free concert.

Regional country music headliner Diamondback will launch the Oct. 1 Celebrate! St. Cloud State event with a 1:30 p.m. concert on Herb Brooks Way.

The free concert will be followed by the 4 p.m. Huskies vs. Northern State University football game in Husky Stadium and 7 p.m. social gatherings in the Martini Lounge and Pool Hall of the Red Carpet.

Band members Brian Lommel (guitar/vocals), James Anderson (lead guitar/vocals), Todd Gregory (bass/vocals) and Dan Allen (drums/vocals) have been bringing cutting-edge country music to fans since 1998.

Diamondback's dedication to interpreting the "new stuff" from Nashville, Los Angeles and elsewhere will be on display south of the National Hockey Center until 3:45 p.m., in conjunction with food vendors such as Famous Dave's.

Celebrate! St. Cloud State is a series of campus-, alumni- and community-focused events that draw on Husky Athletics, the arts and academics.

Upcoming Celebrate! St. Cloud State events are Jan. 19-22, April 19-22 and June 21-24. That latter event is centered on the Lemonade Concert and Art Fair.

The Red Carpet, St. Cloud's iconic Fifth Avenue night club, will host a post-game gathering 7 p.m. in the Martini Lounge. St. Cloud State Greeks are gathering 7 p.m. in the Pool Hall.

Family Weekend activities, also part of Celebrate! St. Cloud State, include food, fun, information, tours and more in store for students and their families. Family Weekend is sponsored by the Department of Campus Involvement.
