Wind ensembles to perform

St. Cloud State University will host an array of local wind ensembles for a concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 21 in Ritsche Auditorium on the campus of St. Cloud State.
The concert will feature performances from St. Cloud State’s ensemble as well as Milaca High School, Pine City High School and the Windfest Symphony with a combined performance to close the show. St. Cloud State faculty Marcie Givens and J. Hugh Givens will also be performing.
Music selections for the performance include works by Orff, Grantham, Gershwin and Gillingham as well as the premiere of a "Glori" composed by Libby Larsen.
Tickets at the door are $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and students.
St. Cloud State’s Department of Music is an accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Music and awards more than $50,000 in scholarships to students annually. Its 26 faculty members teach and represent a variety of disciplines including music education, history, theory, composition, jazz, pedagogy, music technology, conducting, ethnomusicology and performance.
