After one day of competition in Birmingham, Ala., No. 1 ranked Husky Wrestling leads the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships, thanks to sterling performances by seven student-athletes. Wrestling begins 10 a.m. CST. Fans can follow live at www.trackwrestling.com and listen to the audio stream on www.kvsc.org. A win Saturday would give St. Cloud State its first NCAA team title. St. Cloud State has 60.5 points. In second-pace is Notre Dame College, South Euclid, Ohio, with 58.5 points. Third is University of Nebraska-Kearny at 57.0 points. Senior Kurt Salmen dropped a pair of decisions at 174-pounds and was eliminated from competition. The physical education major hails from Dassel. Sophomore Eric Forde, a 125-pound Fargo native who has not yet declared a major, went 1-2 in three bouts and was eliminated from competition.
