Earth Day Run 2013

Earth Day Run events in the fieldhouse at Halenbeck Hall.

Central Minnesota's largest running event returns with the April 19-20 Earth Day Run.

St. Cloud State's annual five-race weekend is sponsored by Scheels, a 24-store sporting goods chain headquartered in Fargo, N.D. Other corporate sponsors include BLEND, Coborn's, St. Cloud Suburu and Bernick's.

About 4,500 runners, volunteers and spectators are expected to participate. Search the registration database to see if family, friends, neighbors or classmates registered. Registration is closed.

The events are the 1K, 5K Corporate Challenge, 5K, Half Marathon Relay and Half Marathon. Pick up race packets 11 a.m.-8 p.m. April 19 in the Halenbeck Hall fieldhouse. Learn about a proxy pickup service.

Race and event headquarters is the fieldhouse at Halenbeck Hall.

In addition to the races, there are two events April 19:

The St. Cloud Times Health and Fitness Expo will offer information and display wares  from regional and national vendors. Free and open to the public, the fair runs noon to 8 a.m. The St. Cloud Times is the flagship publication of St. Cloud-based Times Media, a Gannett company.

BLEND Kids Health and Fitness Expo will deliver children’s fitness games and activities, nutrition information, healthy foods and more. The free expo is 2-7 p.m. Funded by CentraCare Health Foundation, BLEND is a community coalition committed to reducing obesity among children.
