About 17,000 students return to their studies this month at Minnesota's second-largest public university. Welcome to Education for Life 2012-13. View the academic calendar. Move-in, social gatherings, information sessions, orientation activities and Husky Kick-Off events are scheduled around the Aug. 27 start of Fall Semester at St. Cloud State University. Move-InFirst-year students and new transfer students move into residence halls Aug. 25. Returning residence hall students move in Aug. 26.
Move-in at Coborn Plaza Apartments (CPA) is set for selected dates between Aug. 4 and Aug. 26. Get the CPA move-in details (PDF). Volunteer Husky Haulers will help students move into rooms at the university's 10 residential communities. Residential Life staff members and Public Safety officers will supervise. OrientationThe Aug. 25-26 new student orientation is packed with activities including a picnic, education abroad sessions, sand volleyball and an alumni panel on how to be a successful student. The SCSU 101 presentation includes a breakout session on Common Reading Program book "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks." View the new student orientation schedule. The Aug. 25-26 transfer student orientation includes a tour, ice cream social and bowling social. View the schedule. Some 225 new international students will move into residence halls Aug. 18-19. Johnny Holm ConcertMidwest entertainment legend Johnny Holm and his band perform 9 p.m. to midnight Aug. 30 on the mall east of Atwood Memorial Center. Off-campusThousands of students will return to rental housing west of campus in the historic University-Southside neighborhood.
