Tobacco-free policy advocates

Register today to be a trained advocate for St. Cloud State's new tobacco-free policy. 

Tobacco Policy Supporter Training is noon-1:30 p.m. June 28 in the Primrose Room of Atwood Memorial Center. Lunch is provided. To register, email tupisc@stcloudstate.edu.

After a year-long transition, St. Cloud State will be a tobacco-free campus Aug. 1.

Exceptions for tobacco use will be allowed in accordance with the Minnesota Clean Indoor Air Act (PDF):

• Traditional Native American ceremonies, scientific studies and theatrical productions.
• Private vehicles on university property, as long as respect for individuals and the environment is demonstrated.

Training includes instruction on the role of educational advocacy and methods for communicating the policy to people on campus.

Training is sponsored by the Tobacco Use Policy Implementation & Sustainability Committee, coordinated by Corie Beckermann, director of Student Health Services.
