News Release Faculty grant opportunitiesMonday, May 9, 2011 The Fulbright Scholar Program has grant opportunities for faculty and administrators to lecture, conduct research and attend seminars abroad. Deadlines are approaching for three programs. Now is the time to tackle these tasks:
The Fulbright Program, named for the late Sen. J. William Fulbright, is the largest U.S. international exchange program, offering opportunities for students, scholars and professionals to undertake international graduate study, advanced research, university teaching and teaching in elementary and secondary schools. Web site: cies.org The traditional Fulbright Scholar Program sends 800 U.S. faculty and professionals abroad each year. Grantees lecture and conduct research in a wide variety of academic and professional fields. Deadline: 8/1/2011. The Fulbright Specialists Program provides short-term academic opportunities (two to six weeks) for U.S. faculty and professionals. This program has a rolling deadline. The Fulbright Distinguished Chairs Program awards senior scholars who have a significant publication and teaching record. Deadline: 8/1/2011.
