News Release Faculty grant proposalsTuesday, February 22, 2011 March 18 is the application deadline for faculty long-term and research grants. The Faculty Senate and the Office of Sponsored Programs promote faculty research through the twice-a-year Faculty Improvement Grants program. Long-term grants may be used for postdoctoral study in the applicant's current discipline, study in a new discipline or field, on-campus activity contributing to curricular improvement, pursuit of a terminal degree, or travel to other institutions to observe and participate in programs. Typically, long-term grant funds do not support work that is part of the faculty member’s teaching responsibility. Research grants fund a creative achievement and/or scholarly pursuit using recognized procedures in the faculty member’s discipline.
