The University Program Board is currently accepting short film submissions for the third annual St. Cloud State Student Film Fest. Registration packets are at the UPB office in Atwood room 118. Deadline for registering is noon, Monday, Feb. 1. The Film Fest is at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 24 in the Atwood Theater. Five or more films (as many as time allows) will be showcased in the Atwood Theatre, and judged by a panel comprised of the films coordinator, the president of Cinescope and at least one film studies faculty or substitutes. The judge’s selected first place will be previewed before a blockbuster film at Atwood Movie Night. Any filmmaker with an original short film may enter, but at least one key member of the crew must be currently enrolled at St. Cloud State, spring semester 2010. Films must be shorter than 15 minutes, and must be at least one minute long. Definition of key member will be left up to the discretion of the films coordinator. The judges panel will be responsible for creating/agreeing on the criteria which the films will be judged. In order to qualify for the showcase the film must follow the St. Cloud State code of conduct and all local laws. All persons involved in the making of the film must be credited, none of which can be from the judging panel.
