News Release Forensic team triumphsThursday, November 5, 2009
St. Cloud State University Forensics has excelled at several tournaments this fall, both as a team and through its individual members. The team finished fourth out of 14 teams in School Sweepstakes at the Vocal Viking Invitational speech and debate tournament on Oct. 30-31. Many team members also walked away with individual awards at the tournament including a first-place finish in Program of Oral Interpretation. Team members also won individual awards at the Mid-America Forensics Association Tournaments and the Twin Cities Forensic League Tournament. Vocal Viking Invitational Tournament individual honors:

Forensics teaches students a variety of important skills such as public speaking, research, organization, leadership, group work and critical thinking. Members have immense freedom in choosing, researching and editing their topics, and are provided with extensive support and assistance from coaches and peers. St. Cloud State University offers nearly 200 student organizations that encourage student involvement on campus.
