Honoring our veterans
Monday, October 26, 2009
Pay tribute to our veterans of the Armed Services at the “American Spirit” concert at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, in the Ritsche Auditorium, Stewart Hall.
St. Cloud State President Earl H. Potter III and Mayor David Kleis will co-host this collaborative civic event.
The Windfest Symphony, consisting of outstanding high school students from Minnesota and Wisconsin, and the St. Cloud State Wind Ensemble will team to perform patriotic music honoring our veterans. Local Veterans of Foreign Wars will provide the color guard.
Veterans of the war on terrorism will be welcomed home at the event. Profiles of Courage chronicling selected veterans’ stories of heroism will be provided by the Wind Ensemble as a tribute to all veterans in attendance.
There are over 500 veterans who are currently students at St. Cloud State.
Admission to the concert is free and donations will be accepted at the door to help fund the St. Cloud State Wind Ensemble’s “Save the Music in the Schools Tour” in Minnesota and Washington D.C.
