Students from 87 of the world's 193 recognized nations are attending St. Cloud State University this semester. Top countries sending students to St. Cloud State include Nepal (293), China (134), India (118), Saudi Arabia (57), Malaysia (55) and Republic of Korea (45). Of the 1,157 international students enrolled fall 2009, 777 are pursuing an undergraduate degree, 257 are graduate students and 123 are non-degree students. Total enrollment is 17,686. Fall enrollment a year ago was 16,998, with 1,158 international students. Among the students who travel farthest to attend St. Cloud State are the 39 students from Sri Lanka, an island nation off the southern coast of India. Home to 20 million people, Sri Lanka is renowned for its rich cultural heritage, beautiful beaches and agricultural exports, such as tea and coffee.
