News Release Volunteer for "Into the Streets"Thursday, September 10, 2009
This weekend is the perfect opportunity for you to make a difference in our community. St. Cloud State University’s Volunteer Connection and Delta Zeta International Sorority are sponsoring an all-day "Into the Streets Service Plunge" to connect the campus with the St. Cloud community in service on Saturday, Sept 12. Students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members will engage in four service projects to meet community needs, working with Kids Against Hunger, Friendship Ventures and Opportunity Manor. Volunteers will help beautify and clean up around the campus grounds and the Southside neighborhood. There are morning and afternoon shifts available. The Southside neighborhood clean-up and campus beautification project from 1-4 p.m. will absorb the most volunteers. Check in at West Atwood Mall near the Performing Arts Center on campus. To pre-register, visit Volunteer Connection. Volunteers are invited to the Celebration BBQ Dinner at 4:30 p.m. in the Cascade Room, located on the upper level of the Atwood Memorial Center. For more information or to learn about additional local volunteer opportunities, contact Cody Jones, Volunteer Connection graduate assistant, 320-308-3058, http://volunteerga@stcloudstate.edu .
