It is celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar, when the moon is at its maximum brightness. In Malaysia and Singapore, where large numbers of Chinese have lived for generations, it is called the Lantern Festival. Traditional celebrations include dancing, feasting and moon gazing. At St. Cloud State the festival will be marked with food, education booths and entertainment. Guests can explore Chinese cultures through games, the Dragon Dance, a Kung Fu Panda Show and more. One of the world's oldest civilizations, China is a multinational entity that dominates East Asia.
