News Release Learn about decision-making for sustainable developmentFriday, May 8, 2009 ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Decision-making for sustainable development is the topic of a new summer course in the G.R. Herberger College of Business (HCOB). "Strategies for Sustainability" (MGMT 495) will focus on business decision making with respect to sustainable development and how environmental and social issues affect business performance and public policy. "Sustainable development is a primary innovation driver in many industries and is playing an increasingly important role in economic development, international trade relations and emerging technologies," said Vernon Bachor, assistant professor of management. "These issues are an area of risk, but also offer enormous opportunities for firms and policy-makers." The course is 10-11:55 a.m. Mondays through Thursdays, June 8 to July 10.
