"Mississippi Harvest" showcases studentsí creativity

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Creative works by 23 St. Cloud State University students were selected from as many as 200 submissions for publication in this year’s edition of "The Upper Mississippi Harvest."
St. Cloud State students submitted their work for possible inclusion in the 48-page publication in the categories of poetry, drama, non-fiction, fiction and photography. With guidance from long time faculty advisor Professor Bill Meissner, English, a judging committee chose the winning submissions.
"The Upper Mississippi Harvest" is published annually to showcase the literary and artistic talents of students. The publication is funded by the Student Government Finance Committee which makes nearly 2,000 free copies available for distribution. Copies are available for pick-up in the B51 Building on the St. Cloud State campus.
The English Department at St. Cloud State University is comprised of 33 tenure-track faculty members who offer courses in a range of disciplines within the field of English studies. The department offers an English major with a creative writing emphasis as well as a creative writing minor.
St. Cloud State is located 70 miles northwest of the Twin Cities along the oak-crowned banks of the Mississippi River.
