News Release Eric Hutchinson to headline April 26 Mississippi Music FestSunday, April 5, 2009
ST. CLOUD, Minn. - Singer-songwriter Eric Hutchinson, who earned recognition with a hit album on iTunes, will headline the April 26 Mississippi Music Fest. The Maryland native is best known for the single "Rock & Roll," off the 2007 self-released album "Sounds Like This." The album peaked at No. 5 on the iTunes album chart and was picked up by Warner Brothers Records. Listen to excerpts from the album. The 24th Mississippi Music Fest is 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Halenbeck Hall field house. Below is the musical line-up:
The opening acts -- Sarcasm Radio and Michael Hynes -- are University Program Board (UPB) Battle of the Bands finalists. Their performances will be judged. The best performance earns a $1,000 recording studio time-slot at Two Fish Studios. Managed by UPB, St. Cloud State's student-run entertainment organization, the free festival includes rides, roving performers, a variety of foods and a children’s art-and-entertainment area.
