Tuesday, November 25, 2008
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The St. Cloud State University Department of Theatre, Film Studies and Dance will close the fall semester of its 2008-09 season with a student production of “A Good Friend” Thursday-Sunday, Dec. 4-7, in the Performing Arts Center on campus.
“A Good Friend” is an original full-length play by St. Cloud State senior Ben Thompson. The play was written under the supervision of Associate Professor of English Trista Baldwin and is directed by Bruce Hyde, professor of communication studies and theatre. The show’s scenic, lighting, costuming and sound elements are all designed by theatre students at St. Cloud State.
What are the limits of friendship? A group of students are forced to question their relationships and make choices that will affect them and everyone around them. Lust, drugs and several rash decisions drive the group straight into the ground. In the end, who will be there to pick up the pieces?
Show times are 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 7. Tickets can be purchased at the box office only. Admission is $7 for adults; $5 for seniors and non-St. Cloud State students; free for students, faculty and staff with a St. Cloud State ID. For additional information call 320-308-3229.
