CIO finalists

Four finalists for the new Chief Information Officer position will visit St. Cloud State in November.

Chris McCoy, Chris Odionu, Henry May and Don Riley will interview and participate in open sessions with campus and community.

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) will develop and implement the vision and strategic plan for St. Cloud State technology while providing leadership for units within Information Technology Services.

The CIO position will, for the first time, consolidate information technology leadership in one office. The CIO will report to the President and serve on the President's Council. View the university's organizational chart.

The finalists are:

• Chris McCoy is CIO/associate vice president for information, telecommunications and technology at Metropolitan State University in St. Paul. He holds a master of business administration degree from the University of Iowa. His presentation/open forum is 1:30 p.m. Nov. 2 in Atwood Ballroom Breakout C, Atwood Memorial Center (AMC). • Chris Odionu is CIO/associate vice professor of technology studies and coordinator of information technology and distance learning at Alabama A & M University in Hunstville. • Henry May is CIO for the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development. He earned a master of business administration degree from the University of Minnesota. His presentation/open forum is 1 p.m. Nov. 8 in Glacier South, AMC. View his curriculum vitae (PDF).
  
  
• Don Riley is a professor of information systems at the University of Maryland. He holds a doctorate in mechanical engineering from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind. His presentation/open forum is 1 p.m. Nov. 9 in the Alumni Lounge, AMC. View his curriculum vitae (PDF).

The position is expected to be filled Jan. 1.
