Making Strides walk Oct. 20

Opening ceremony participants at the 2011 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk at St. Cloud State.

St. Cloud State will host the Oct. 20 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer (MSABC) fundraising walk.

Last October our campus hosted more than 80 teams, more than 900 registered walkers, 79 breast cancer survivors and hundreds of volunteers.

Students, employees, alumni and community members celebrated America's more than 2.5 million breast cancer survivors and raised more than $80,000 for breast cancer research, services and programs.

The 7 a.m. registration and 9 a.m. opening ceremony are in the Halenbeck Hall fieldhouse.

The walk is part of a national effort by the American Cancer Society to end breast cancer forever.
