Four finalists for Dean of Learning Resources will visit St. Cloud State in late October.
Laura Probst, Wendy McGrane, Christina Baum and Mark Vargas will interview and participate in open sessions with students, employees and community members.
Dean of Learning Resource provides leadership, planning, coordination and management for information media, curriculum development, library resources, training and instructional support.
The new dean will report to Devinder Malhotra, provost/vice president of Academic Affairs. View the university's organizational chart.
The finalists are:
- Laura Probst is the former dean of libraries at Florida International University in Miami and Biscayne Bay. She holds a master's degree in library science from University of Illinois. Her presentation/open forum is 3 p.m. Oct. 24 in Cascade Room, Atwood Memorial Center (AMC). View her curriculum vitae (PDF).
- Wendy McGrane is library director at Missouri Southern State University in Joplin. She holds a master's degree in library and information studies from the University of Oklahoma. She is pursuing a doctorate at Capella University, a Minneapolis-based for-profit college. Her presentation/open forum is 3 p.m. Oct. 26 in Alumni Room, AMC. View her curriculum vitae (PDF).
- Christina Baum is director of library services at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven. She holds a doctorate in higher education administration and master's in library science from University of Kentucky. Her presentation/open forum is 3 p.m. Nov. 8 Glacier North, AMC. - Mark Vargas directs the Robert and Mary Rita Murphy Stump Library at Saint Xavier University in Chicago. He holds a master's in library science from the University of Maryland. His presentation/open forum is 3 p.m. Nov. 5 in Voyageurs South, AMC. View his curriculum vitae (PDF).
