Lemonade Concert & Art Fair

Art, crafts, music, food and more in store for you at the Lemonade Concert and Art Fair 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. June 21 at St. Cloud State University.

The 39th iteration of St. Cloud State's signature summer event will feature free performances by the St. Cloud Symphony Orchestra (SCSO) and the opening ceremony of Granite City Days, St. Cloud's annual community festival.

On the grounds surrounding Atwood Memorial Center, more than 230 vendors are expected to offer stained glass, pottery, fiber crafts, glassware, photography, paintings, clothing, lawn ornaments, metal sculpture, lemonade, sweet corn, roasted turkey legs, kettle corn, artisan candy, ethnic foods, burgers, sandwiches, ice cream, shaved ice, smoothies and more. 

Minneapolis artists Bill Luse and Steven d'Hanson will create a chalk drawing in front of Stewart Hall. "Our initial idea is to use your Husky mascot to create a strong image representing the continuing spirit of the campus," said Luse. 

Mayor Dave Kleis will honor recipients of the Rock-On Award during the 7 p.m. Granite City Days opening ceremony. The award recognizes St. Cloud individuals, organizations and businesses who have demonstrated outstanding civic participation, leadership or achievements.

The 8 p.m. SCSO program will include patriotic tunes and popular pieces such as Richard Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries," the finale from Anton Dvoøák's "New World Symphony" and John Barry's "Dances with Wolves." Conducting the symphony will be Daniel O'Bryant, assistant professor and director of orchestras at St. Cloud State.

A children's area, called the Little Lemons Art Park, will offer art projects, craft projects, performance art, juggling and more. Staff from the Paramount Theatre and Visual Arts Center will coordinate the activities 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. south of Stewart Hall.

• Robin Berry, harpist | 11 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. west of Atwood Memorial Center   
• Cantible Girls' Choir | 4 - 4:20 p.m. World Commons, west of Centennial Hall 
• Greg Kaler, juggler | Shows at noon, 1:30 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
• Bill Luse, chalk artist | 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. in front of Stewart Hall
• Paul Imholte, multi-instrumentalist | Roving the grounds 11 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
• St. Cloud Area All Star Jazz Band | 4:45 p.m. - 6 p.m. World Commons
• Katrina Wilder and Phillip Hernandez, vocal-piano duo | 7 - 8 p.m. Atwood Mall 
• Zombie Pit String Band, bluegrass music | 1 - 2:30 p.m. World Commons  

Farmer's Market vendors will offer fresh produce, plants and more between the Miller Center and Administrative Services Building. 

Lemonade Concert and Art Fair is the kickoff event for the summer edition of Celebrate St. Cloud State. It is managed by the Department of Campus Involvement, with sponsorship by Health Partners, an integrated health care system based in Bloomington, Minn. Visit the Lemonade 2012 website.

• Parking in the 4th Avenue Parking Ramp is a dollar per hour with an $8 per day maximum
• A free shuttle will run between K and Q parking lots and the Miller Center
