A nationally known expert on depression, addiction, self-injury and suicidal tendencies is set to speak 7:30 p.m. Feb. 16 in Ritsche Auditorium, Stewart Hall.
Since 2006, Jamie Tworkowski has been connecting people to treatment centers, websites, books, support groups and other resources through a Florida-based non-profit called To Write Love on Her Arms (TWLOHA).
Tworkowski's presentation of the same name discusses the history of his organization and its rise to prominence on the Internet.
TWLOHA's fundraising strategies include benefits, celebrity fundraisers and merchandising, especially branded clothing sales.
Student tickets are free with an SCSU ID (limit two). A public ticket is $5. Tickets are available at Atwood Memorial Center's information desk, online at scsutickets.com or at the door.
Free parking is available on streets adjacent to campus. Parking is $1 an hour in the 4th Avenue Parking Ramp.
The event is sponsored by University Program Board, St. Cloud State's student-run provider of entertainment and education.
