News Release Lame Deer service tripSaturday, December 18, 2010 Broaden your world view and build your resume by serving youngsters on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation this spring break. The Volunteer Connection is taking online applications through 8 a.m. Jan. 18 for a spring break service trip to Lame Deer in southeast Montana. Twelve students will be selected to participate in the March 5-12 service project. The service work will include working with youth ages five to 18 at the Boys & Girls Clubs in Lame Deer and nearby Ashland. Tasks include homework help and support for recreational activities. Trip participants may also do cleaning, painting, light maintenance and repair. As a group, participants will engage in nightly reflection sessions, as well as make and share nightly meals. Housing is at St. Labre Mission in Ashland. Cost is $200, including travel, lodging and basic food needs.
