News Release Creative Writing WorkshopThursday, February 25, 2010
St. Cloud State will offer a two-credit graduate or undergraduate creative writing workshop during summer intersession from 10:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. June 1-4. Creative Writing Director Bill Meissner, winner of the Midwest Book Award for fiction for his novel "Spirits in the Grass," will facilitate the event. The workshop consists of best-selling novelists’ and poets’ presentations, daily writing exercises, discussion, and writing skills development. This S/U non-graded course requires no prerequisites and is suitable for beginning and advanced level students. Presenters include Minnesota Voices Award winner, Margaret Hasse; author of the non-fiction memoirs "Wasted" and "Madness," Marya Hornbacher; author of "The Grass Dancer," Susan Power; and author of "Welcome To My Planet (Where English is Sometimes Spoken)," Shannon Olson.
