Input sought for AMC
Monday, February 8, 2010
Students, staff and faculty can share ideas about the future form and functions of Atwood Memorial Center (AMC) 3:30 p.m. Feb. 24 in the Glacier Room at AMC.
University officials and student leaders are working with two consultants on AMC enhancements.
At the Wednesday forum will be representatives from Workshop Architects and LHB, Inc.
Workshop is a Milwaukee architectural firm with clients such as Duke University, Oklahoma State University and the University of Wisconsin.
LHB is a company of engineers, architects, surveyors and designers with offices in Duluth and Minneapolis. LHB designed the new Oneka Elementary School in Hugo and the renovated Life Sciences Building at the University of Minnesota Duluth.
A student center, AMC has been called "the university's living
room" and "the campus gathering place." It was built in 1966 and
remodeled in 1972, 1992 and 2004.
