Orchestra concert Nov. 21

A concerto from Antonio Vivaldi's "Four Seasons" is among the music to be performed Nov. 21 by the St. Cloud State Orchestra.
The second Orchestra concert of the season will feature violinist Marion Judish soloing on "Autumn," one of four concerti that form the Italian composer's masterpiece for violin. Judish is a professor of violin and viola.
Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. concert in Ritsche Auditorium are $5 for adults and $3 for non-St. Cloud State students and seniors. One free ticket is available with a St. Cloud State ID.

Conducting will be Daniel O'Bryant, director of orchestra and low strings, and Armando Saldarini, graduate student.
Another highlight will be a performance of "Cello Concerto in E minor, Op. 85" by Edward Elgar (1857-1934). The featured cellist will be Greg Nelson, adjunct music instructor at St. Cloud State and graduate student at the University of Minnesota. View a video of Nelson playing a J.S. Bach piece.

The Hovhaness piece will include audio clips of great blue whales.
The Orchestra performs four or five concerts annually, covering all styles of the standard repertoire from baroque to contemporary. The ensemble is open by audition to all orchestral musicians, including string, woodwind, brass, percussion and keyboard players. Students who do not own an instrument may rent one from the Music Department.
