First-year students: Kayak the Apostle Islands

Get a head start on college life by joining a Freshman Wilderness Orientation kayaking trip to the Apostle Islands in Lake Superior.

Incoming students are encouraged to register for a five-day trip to the windswept archipelago of 21 islands on Wisconsin's north coast.

Explore sea caves and sand beaches while you make friends and learn more about St. Cloud State University.  

The cost is $225. Students need only provide personal clothing. A clothing list is available upon registering.

Session I

Trip dates: Aug. 18-22
Registration deadline: Aug. 6

Session II

Trip dates: Sept. 3-7
Registration deadline: Aug. 25

Freshman Wilderness Orientation is managed by Outdoor Endeavors, St. Cloud State's experts for outfitting, outdoor education and experiential learning.
