Pow wow April 25 in Halenbeck Hall

ST. CLOUD, Minn. - Lakota elder Jerry Dearly and drum group Smokey Hill are among the attractions at the All Tribes Council's 16th Traditional Pow Wow.
An afternoon and evening of meeting, greeting, singing, dancing, eating and renewing friendships begins 1 p.m. April 25 in Halenbeck Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

Dearly enjoys a national reputation as a master of ceremonies and is a gifted storyteller. Born in Oglala, S.D., he has worked much of his career as an educator with St. Paul Public Schools.
Smokey Hill is a northwestern Minnesota drum group with ties to the White Earth Reservation. Listen to their drumming and singing on the Smokey Hill MySpace page. Brad Bloom, Steve Greenfeather and the rest of the group will act as host drum.
All Tribes Council is a student-run organization that serves the needs of American Indian students at St. Cloud State University.
