News Release Icelandic civil engineer/author on campus for book signingMonday, December 1, 2008 Yrsa Sigurdardóttir, a leading Icelandic civil engineer directing one of the largest hydro construction projects in Europe and an award-winning author of two mystery novels and five children’s novels, will visit St. Cloud State University on Friday, Dec. 5. In addition to speaking to several classes about her engineering work in the geothermal energy field, Ms. Sigurdardóttir will sign copies of “Last Rituals,” the first in a promised series of mystery novels featuring Icelandic attorney Thóra Gudmundsdóttir, at the Husky Bookstore (Centennial Hall) from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Originally written in Icelandic, a translated version of “Last Rituals”was published by William Morrow/Harper Collins in 2007 and copies will be available at the book signing.
