Trio Lorca

Trio Lorca established its name in honor of Federico Garcia Lorca,Spanish poet and playwright, whose poetry George Crumb set to music in his Madrigals, Book II. It was this composition the musicians first played as an ensemble and has since become their sentimental favorite.

Trio Lorca's repertoire is widely varied, ranging from traditional Spanish folk songs to avant garde compositions, from adaptations of works from standard and contemporary repertoire to music commissioned specifically for this group. Performances by Trio Lorca are carefully programmed to be accessible to a wide range of audiences, full of variety and innovation, and yet maintain a sense of fun.

Trio Lorca is dedicated to presenting artistic performances to audiences throughout Central Minnesota and is equally committed to the advancement of young musicians. Trio members are able to present master classes or clinics in many different areas.
