Department of Music St. Cloud State University

Opera Theatre

The Department of Music prepares students for careers in music and offers diverse musical experiences to all, enriching the musical fabric of our university and community, regionally and globally.

The Opera Theatre presents at least one fully-staged production each year and is offered both Fall and Spring semesters. Recent productions have included Menotti’s “The Old Maid and the Thief” and “The Medium”, Mozart’s “Cosi fan tutte” and “Bastien and Bastienne”, Ramsier’s “The Man on the Bearskin Rug”, a touring production of Barab’s “Little Red Riding Hood”, Menotti’s “Amahl and the Night Visitors” and most recently a tremendously successful production of Sondheim's "Into the Woods".
