STEP #1: Join the Minnesota Brass Drum & Bugle Corps
Minnesota Brass Quick Facts
- Season runs from January to September
- All age corps, with an age range from 17 - 60 years old
- 20 performances each season, including parades and competitive field shows

STEP #2: Register for MUSM 495 (undergraduate credit) or MUSM 595 (graduate credit)

MUSM 495 & MUSM 595 ASSIGNMENT
Based on your experience as a member of the Minnesota Brass Drum & Bugle Corps choose a specific musical, movement/marching, or organizational/logistics topic, and write a minimum two page instructional document describing in detail the chosen topic followed by a complete description of how it was addressed in rehearsals and performances. Advice from instructors and staff may be included in the document as well as your own viewpoint on the best teaching methods for the specific topic.
The finished document will serve as a resource for music and movement/marching teachers as well as future members of the Minnesota Brass Drum & Bugle Corps. With permission of the student, the final document will be posted online on the web site of the St. Cloud State University Department of Music as a resource for other students and teachers.
