Timothy Wollenzien has been a professional music educator in Minnesota since 1984, and joined the music department as an assistant professor in the fall of 2002. His teaching responsibilities include secondary music education methods, instrumental methods, Campus Band, and music appreciation. He also works with student teachers in music, and is a co-advisor to the Collegiate MENC chapter. Wollenzien currently serves as the Collegiate Chapters Chair on the board of the Minnesota Music Educators Association, and is also the music department's assessment coordinator.

Wollenzien earned the B.S. degree in music from Moorhead State University, and the M.A. and Ph.D. in music education from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Wollenzien's extensive teaching experience includes general and instrumental music education in several Minnesota schools: Lake of the Woods in Baudette, Coon Rapids High School, and Osseo Senior High School. He is an active euphonium and baritone horn performer with the Lake Wobegon Brass Band, and coordinates and conducts St. Cloud's annual Merry TUBACHRISTMAS.
