Stanley Carlson is the Director of the St. Cloud State University Men’s Choir. Previously he was the Director of Choral Activities at Staples Motley High School from 1965-1999, and Director of the Staples Area Men’s Chorus since 1971.

 

He was named winner of the “Clayton W. Old Award” for distinguished service by the Association Male Choruses of American (AMCA) in 1988, “Minnesota Choral Director of the Year” in 1990 by the American Choral Director’s Association (ACDA) of Minnesota, and “Music Educator of the Year” in 1998 by the Minnesota Music Educator’s Association (MMEA). 

 

Mr. Carlson served as Vice President for Choral Music with the Minnesota Music Educator’s Association from 1993–1995 and has been named the Director of the MMEA All-State Men’s Choir in 2007-2008.
