Proposal Form (Deadline extended to Friday, December 16, 2011)
The Office of Multicultural Student Services at St. Cloud State University along with partnering schools will host the 3rd Annual Power in Diversity Leadership Conference, Change--It starts with me! January 27-29, 2012.
The Power in Diversity Leadership Conference will bring together over 300 students, faculty, staff and advisors from institutions in the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system and other colleges and universities in the region.
Currently, we are seeking workshop presenters for the Power in Diversity Leadership Conference.
The 3rd annual Power in Diversity Leadership Conference will offer opportunities for personal growth and leadership development to college students through a variety of workshops, keynote addresses, and programs, each selected based on their vision of how to empower individuals and groups to bring about change. The concept of change is not limited to the activist sense of the word; we are also encouraging participants to envision change through their education, their career choice, and the personal choices that they make.
How do I make change? What is change? These questions and more will be explored.
The Diversity Job and Internship Fair will take place during the conference on Friday, January 27, allowing students to connect with employers who are particularly interested in recruiting diverse employees.
If interested, please submit this form by Friday, December 16, 20111. Workshops are scheduled for 50 minutes followed by 10 minutes for evaluations.
Workshops with themes regarding career, graduate school, navigating college, and finances and other related subjects will be presented on Friday, January 27. Be sure to make note of this when considering your availability to present. All other workshops will be presented on Saturday, January 28.
Workshops will be selected based on their vision of how to empower individuals and groups to bring about change. The topics below are suggestions of possible content that may be used.
