Description:
A collaborative effort with the Department of Ethnic Studies, Multicultural Student Services and the Center for International Studies, this program allows students to examine the history and culture of the Tarahumara people and will participate in a service learning experience with this indigenous community.   The program includes a visit and tour of Ciudad Chihuahua and a train trip and tour of the Copper Canyon. Participants will have a chance to grow personally and gain a better understanding of other cultures.

Objectives:
To examine the history and culture of the Tarahumara people and provide a service learning experience that directly benefits this indigenous community.  The program includes a visit and tour of Ciudad Chihuahua and a train trip and tour of Copper Canyon (Mexico’s Grand Canyon).

The education-abroad program in Mexico gives students a chance to grow as individuals and become more understanding of other cultures.
