St. Cloud State University

Welcome

Warren Yu

Greetings from the Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Department (MME) at St. Cloud State University (SCSU)! It is a pleasure to welcome you to our web site. I encourage you to contact us for additional information you may need or for a tour of our department.

St. Cloud State University is the second largest university in Minnesota with 15,000 students and is located on the shores of the not-too-mighty Mississippi River. As a state university, St. Cloud State University has low tuition but offers a high quality education known for its preparation for teachers, business majors, and engineers. While St. Cloud State University is large enough to offer great variety, MME students find themselves in small classes taught by qualified and dedicated professors. Our students work closely with the faculty!

The MME Department currently offers four degrees: a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BS ME), a Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering (BS MfgE), a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (MS ME), and a Master of Engineering Management (MEM). Admission and program details can be found on our web site. The two undergraduate engineering programs are designed to meet the needs of industry and both are accredited by ABET. The graduate programs have been developed with the working professional in mind and offers evening, ITV, and remote site classes. Our graduates are in demand in industry and have great job opportunities.

The MME Department has a close working relationship with local industry and actually has its Robotics Lab at a local industry site. All faculty members have PhD's and extensive industrial experience. Many are licensed professional engineers. Consequently our students do extremely well on the engineer-in-training exam. Students in the MME Department get a very good exposure to real world engineering and hands on experience. Labs include rapid prototyping, metallurgy, manufacturing processes, thermal sciences, robotics and automation, optics/laser, material characterization, and computer-aided-design (CAD).

Thanks for being interested in engineering at St. Cloud State University. We will be honored to be a part of your successful career development. Best wishes in success,

Warren Yu Signature
