Update:
4/9/08: The search committee has invited 7 candidates for a phone interview scheduled for Monday 14th April. 3 candidates out of this pool will be invited for a campus interview to be held within 2 weeks after the phone interview.
4/14/8: The search committee met after the phone interviews and has requested the Dean to invite 3 finalists for a campus interview. Subject to timely approval the committe would like to invite the candidates for campus interview for next Monday, Wednesday and Friday. As soon as the search committee receives approval from AAO, the search committee chair will formally invite the finalists.
4/15/08: Three finalists have been invited for campus interview's on 4/21; 4/23; 4/25.
4/30/08: The search committee made a recommendation to the Dean. On approval by the Dean, and SCSU adminstration an offer will be made within 14 days.
Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Faculty Position
The Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at St. Cloud State University is accepting applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the area of automation and controls. The successful applicant will be required to teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate level courses in the Mechanical Engineering program. Other responsibilities include advising undergraduate and graduate students, developing curriculum and sponsored research, participating in departmental and accreditation activities, and providing service to the university and the community. Excellent communication skills, industrial experience, and a professional engineering license are a plus. The successful candidate will have demonstrated an ability to teach, effective teamwork, and work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds. He/she will engage students in his/her areas of interest and encourage them to develop and attain professional goals through classroom teaching, project guidance, advising, and personal examples.
The department offers accredited Bachelors’ degrees in mechanical engineering and manufacturing engineering, a Master of Science degree in mechanical engineering, and masters of engineering management. The position is for the Assistant/Associate Professor level and begins August 27, 2008. A Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field is required by 16 August 2008.
