1- Graduates from the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at St. Cloud State University will have the ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and mechanical and manufacturing engineering principles to design and problem solving.
A. Use appropriate mathematical, scientific, or engineering principles to model engineering problems.
1. Unable to fully model engineering problems.
2. Model of engineering problems are incomplete or do not address key parameters.
3. Model complete but does not fully address key parameters and accuracy.
4. Modeling completed addressing key parameters without completely or correctly addressing accuracy.
5. Modeling completed addressing key parameters and accuracy.
B. Apply knowledge of science and engineering fundamentals
1. Unable to apply fundamentals to engineering problems.
2. Limited application of fundamentals to solve engineering problems.
3. Understands appropriate fundamentals but does not correctly apply them to engineering problems.
4. Able to understand select engineering fundamentals with some progress towards solving engineering problems.
5. Uses all appropriate fundamentals to solve engineering problems.
